This column is intensely frustrating. It’s nice to hear a prominent Japanese Olympic official offer something bordering on regret but the passivity astounds. ‘We have been backed into a corner’? Who is we? Who did the backing?

Will be sad when this Nuggets/Blazers series comes to an end. This is a great game.
The new version of Firefox feels much more like a native app on macOS. There’s still some dialog boxes (e.g. bookmarks window) where theming isn’t consistent but so much better than it used to be. Could see myself using this as my default browser.
Why did my daughter need to be picked up from the bus stop now? #dametime
Frustrated that none of my Twitter clients (Twitter, Tweetbot, web) will auto-refresh a list.
I’m listening to new music from the Offspring, Alanis Morissette, the Whitlams and You Am I. I’ve just checked and it’s not 1998.
I finally managed to ‘scrub’ a video using the new Apple TV remote. You have to run your finger around the very edge of the ring for it to work and it only works in videos (i.e. not lists).
I’m still very worried about the direction in which Apple is taking macOS but here’s a positive experience. Last night I had my mother share her Mac’s screen with me via Messages and it was such a terrific troubleshooting experience I almost want her to need my help again.
So I think @nhk_radio_news changed their Japanese Radio News podcast URL and now the old one just straight up doesn’t work…?
I wrote a short blog post about adding support for domain-specific mentions to Jekyll, i.e. @pyrmont:twitter.com
.
Apologies for tagging @jamesvandyne but I wanted to test the way my cross-service mention support is working. And, if you’re interested in independent microblogging, he’s doing interesting things with tanzawa.blog.
This is a test of a Jekyll plugin I wrote that posts these messages to Twitter.
The pages themselves for Twitter’s developer API documentation are absolutely awful. Basic stuff like using the cursor keys to navigate doesn’t work properly.
New Apple TV remote is here!
I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to divine why Lotte decides to release Crunky mint chocolate ice cream in some summers and not in others.
I’ve been trying out Mubi with the idea that I’ll watch the movies late at night as the last thing I do before I go to sleep. This isn’t doing wonders for my sleeping schedule but it is getting me to watch more movies.
It’s difficult to overstate how obnoxious the overlays are that a paying subscriber is pestered with on the NYT’s website.
