I haven’t seen many people noting this but Australia went through a bushfire (read: wildfire) season over the Southern Hemisphere summer that’s similar to what’s happening on the U.S. West Coast. We should definitely be concerned this is the new normal.
OK, so I did find this page confirming Mac Catalyst apps are always foreground and active. Good to know if a little frustrating.
So as best as I can tell, Mac Catalyst apps just don’t receive UIKit notifications when they get sent to the background…? I don’t see many people talking about it but I can’t get any of the foreground/background notifications to work.

It seems trite to say that music can transport you but that’s exactly what happens whenever I listen to ‘Rise’ by Doves (Apple Music). Those opening bars begin and I’m immediately a first-year university student again.
The heavens opened up on me and now I feel like I did when, as a safety exercise, we had to swim fully clothed in primary school.
