Switched to the Arlo Baby from the Withings Home. I like the simplicity of the Home but Netgear seems to be able to write iOS apps that don’t break, which, you know, kind of a big deal with a baby monitor.
That was the greatest WWDC keynote I’ve ever seen.
I’m rewriting the Clojure lexer for Rouge and have just discovered a whole bunch of errors in the visual test that the previous lexer didn’t pick up at all. Progress!
I both want a native e-mail client and feel like the ones that are out there never work as well as Gmail.
After listening to @coreint, I signed up for Setapp and while it’s interesting, I don’t think I’ll keep it. Of the apps there that I don’t already own, ToothFairy was the only one that I could really see myself using long term and I think I’d rather buy it outright.
Disappointed that the latest update to Fantastical doesn’t fix the change they made to one of their Apple Watch complications recently. The classy ‘23 THU’ is now ‘05/23 THU’. Looks tasteless :(
I’m watching Gattaca again. Such a great movie. I love Loren Dean’s performance as Anton.
I bought a new iPad Mini yesterday and spent three hours trying to set it up for my 3-year-old. Screen Time is horribly designed and lacks features you assume must be in there. Why can’t I permanently disable certain apps?
The redesign to the For You tab of Apple Music seems to be overwhelmingly preferred but I miss having what my friends are listening to at the top of the screen.
I think Paul Ford may be my favourite living essayist. I wanted to highlight every sentence in this piece.
I had cause to look up the word ‘avatar’. It means the opposite of what you think.
Has anyone else noticed the similarities between John Williams’ JFK and Jurassic Park scores? At points, it’s like he copied and pasted and figured nobody was going to notice.
Wow, I just did one of those fast payment things between two bank accounts with different Australian banks and this stuff is like magic.
What’s up danger?
I contend that the direction to turn the Digital Crown to adjust the volume in the Now Playing ‘app’ on the Apple Watch is wrong.
Almost invariably the Japanese band I finally like the sound of is Korean.
I feel like someone’s finally written the mainstream article about the generational divide in politics that’s been bouncing around in my head for the last five or so years.
I stayed up all last night trying to get the favicon on my blog to look right in macOS’s dark mode and the fatigue just crashed into me. Still eight hours or so of work to go.
I unreasonably love Björk’s ‘Immature’.
