I’m upgrading my Raspberry Pi remotely from Raspbian Jessie to Raspbian Stretch. Wish me luck.

I’ve been having an issue using Mosh, Vim and Screen together. After a period of time, the arrow keys stop working properly. According to this, :set term=builtin_ansi fixes it. It did for me but I don’t understand why.

Am I the only one who doesn’t feel much when reading those ‘death of blogging’ posts? Nobody reads your blog? This has been every blog I’ve ever written.

I have thoughts on the beta of Sunlit. Not sure if it’s all that relevant for anyone other than @manton but felt like he’d nevertheless appreciate it being in blog form :P

Customising a blog set up with Jekyll and GitHub Pages feels hilariously more difficult than it should. Just can’t find simple information, eg. ‘How should you customise the sidebar of a theme?’, ‘How should you get the home page to show a list of posts?’

I wish the Micro.blog client on iOS would load new posts above the current position rather than ‘refreshing’ the timeline.

Taipo is up to version 1.4.0. Namespaces for class names now work! And I refactored the parser to be approximately 90% nicer.

Ugh. I realise I need to redo the parser for Taipo.

Blake being traded to Detroit was not what I was expecting.

Apple removing the telnet and ftp commands in High Sierra is… an odd choice.

I now have a development version of Taipo that supports optional types (ie. String? matches both 'foo' and nil). The syntax is borrowed from Swift (or at least that’s where I borrowed it from); not sure if Rubyists will like it or not.

I saw my first ad in Facebook Messenger (showed up in the contact list). Kind of gross.

I had originally set the domain for my microblog as briefs.inqk.net but changed it today to updates.inqk.net. I still prefer how the former looks when written down but the latter fits better with the scheme I have for naming my subdomains.

Still no Spotify support for the Echo in Japan, which seems strange given there’s support for other (non-Amazon) music services. Definitely makes me feel good about purchasing the Google Home Mini.

Taipo now supports bare symbolic value constraints as type definitions. That means that instead of needing to write Symbol(val: :foo)|Symbol(val: :bar), you can just write :foo|:bar. Hello hacky enums!
